A few weeks back, I was presented with an opportunity to ask Charice a few questions. Charice, full name Charice Pempengco is an asian singer who rose to popularity through YouTube. At just 18 years old, she achieved a #1 single and her debut album achieved a top 10 slot in the Billboard 200 album chart. After the release of her album, I was given a chance to ask her a few questions. Check them out and I hope you enjoy!

24/7: I would like to congratulate you in the success of your first single 'Pyramid' and in achieving a top 10 album on the Billboard 200. What does it feel like to have gained this type of success?

Charice: FEELS AWESOME!!! THE FIRST SOLO ASIAN TO GET A TOP 10 SLOT! 

24/7: Your new album is amazing. What would you say the main message behind it is and what do you want people to get out of it?

Charice: ALL THE SONGS REALLY REFECT WHERE I AM IN MY LIFE AND MY AGE – ABOUT DISCOVERING LIFE. 

24/7: How long did it take to record the album?

Charice: IT TOOK OVER A YEAR. A LONG PROCESS FINDING SONGS. 

24/7: Have you decided on a second single from the album yet?

Charice: NOT YET : )

24/7: Are you planning on releasing another album?

Charice: OF COURSE I WILL RELEASE ANOTHER ALBUM BUT ITS TOO SOON TO SAY WHEN ANOTHER WILL BE RELEASED.

24/7: Who are your musical inspirations/influences?

Charice: THE THREE BIG ONES – CELINE, WHITNEY, MARIAH!

24/7: How did you get into singing, and is having a musical career all that you thought it would be?

Charice: MY MOM DISCOVERED ME SINGING ON THE TABLE WHEN I WAS 4 YEARS OLD! FROM THEN I ENTERED ALMOST ONE HUNDRED SINGING COMPETITIONS AND EVENTUALLY GOT DISCOVERED ON YOUTUBE. IT’S BETTER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE – ALL I WANT TO DO IS SING SO I AM LIVING MY DREAM

24/7: Describe a typical day in the life of Charice.

Charice: SING, SING, SING!

24/7: And finally, where do you see yourself in a year from now.

Charice: STILL SINGING AND HOPING THAT PEOPLE ENJOY MY SONGS.
