[Variety] 1N2D - Winter Break

1 Night 2 Days

The first part of this trip was put in the last half of the previous episode, Episode 183. The PD told them that they are giving them a vacation. This time, no staff will be going with them, it's all on their own. The cameras were set up by the crew in advance, they taught the members how to change tapes and how to operate the cameras.

They will go to their base camp on their own, and get enough footage to fill in a whole episode. Nobody to tell them what to do and how to be funny. This is the ultimate test of our funny men's abilities. I trust these guys, I'm sure they'll find a way to be funny on their own, LOL! XD

By 12 midnight, PD Na came with a cake, thanking the men for doing a good job for 2010. Everyone was touched until Jiwon noticed something weird, lol! XD Seunggi's immitation of PD Na is the funniest! I was laughing so hard, LOL! =P

and hopefully he will enjoy the show so much that we'll get to see him smile that this more. ^^ I personally like actor Uhm Tae Woong and though this news is totally unexpected to me, I'm happy and hope he is too. =)

Actor Uhm Tae Woong (36) has been selected to be the 6th member of KBS 2TV’s “1 Night 2 Days“!

A representative of his agency spoke through Star News on February 20th and confirmed, “Uhm Tae Woong was chosen as the show’s newest member and will join them for recording on February 25th.”

Producers previously revealed that their criteria for their sixth member was someone with a ‘nice image’; they felt that his image fit right in with their standards, especially since he’s rarely ever made appearances on variety programs all this while.

Na Young Suk PD spoke with Newsen and revealed his reasons for choosing Uhm Tae Woong by stating, “I’ve been trying to cast him since last October. I narrowed the choices down by dividing those that were good and bad at variety shows. Uhm Tae Woong was the most charismatic character.”

Na continued, “By meeting him, I was pulled into his human qualities. He has a character that made me, as a producer, curious about him. I believe that viewers will have just as much fun in figuring out and solving his character along with us. He never had interest in appearing on variety programs and has a different image than that of his acting. He’s very charismatic when he’s acting, but aside from that, he’s just a fun and normal person. I was pulled into that.”

They're all in their school uniforms and they're going on a school trip. ^^ And just to get it out, sadly, it's also Kim C's last episode. T_T

Everyone brought pack lunches from home just like what we do in a normal school trip. On the way, they sang karaoke in the bus to get every body hyped up. The 3 top winners will be given the chance to choose the lunch box they want. In the end, everybody was able to share a delicious picnic style meal.

Next mission is to go on a "Stamp Tour". They a special tour brochure where they put in all the tourist spots and you can get the places you go to stamped. Everyone will have to go to a place where no other members had gone to and have their brochure stamped. The last one to get back to the meeting place will have to look for the base camp on his own. And for the very first time, Kang Ho Dong is the lucky one! =D

And the unavoidable farewell came. At night, Ho Dong announced that Kim C is leaving the show and it's his last day. I started crying when the PD asked them to sit up and that he will have to talk to them. I can feel that Soogeun really felt bad that Kim C didn't feel close enough to his 1N2D members that he didn't mention his hardships beforehand. Everyone is really sad and when Soogeun started to cry, I can't stop my tears from falling already. By the time I stopped crying, my eyes hurt already. T_T I'm really gonna miss Kim C. But just like everyone, I wish him all the best and will be waiting for the day that he comes back to the show.~

[Variety] 1N2D - Coastline Special

1 Night 2 Days

The group is challenging 1500km trip around South Korea. A 4 days 3 nights trip that will test their endurance and let the viewers see the beauty of Korea's coastline. =) After taking a quiz game for their pocket money, they're off to Abai Village but in a very cramped mini van. For their first meal, they were divided into soondae soup team and fish team.

Next stop is Jongseon. On the way, Hodong played around with Jiwon, Seunggi and Mong, squishing both by sitting at the back seats. ^^ "A trip is always fun, when you go with friends", that's just so true! =) For lunch, they're playing a game where they will pedal a bicycle in train tracks. The beach for their base camp. ^^

I haven't watched the episode because I'm afraid I'm going to cry so hard I'll get puffy eyes. Just knowing Kim C is leaving makes me so sad already.

[TV Report by Hwang In-hye] Kim C has left the cast of the hit travel reality show "Two Days and One Night" on KBS 2TV. His last appearance aired Sunday, exactly two years and eight months after he joined the show.

The cast, traveling in Gyeongju, grew sullen towards bedtime.

The members knew the whole day that it was Kim C's last shoot. Kang Ho-dong opened up first, announcing that Kim C, who was like a mother to the other members, was now leaving.

Everyone was silent. Kang tried to cheer things up, joking, "Did we do anything wrong to you?" But all were silent in disbelief.

Kim C said his decision to leave is completely of his own accord and a personal matter and had nothing to do with any of them. He explained that he wants to focus on music as the vocalist of the band "Hot Potato." He expressed his wishes to leave to the producers last year and was discussing the right time.

The sudden news of his departure fanned rumors that he was being pressed to leave, but Kim C stressed that the only reason is to have more time doing music.

Lee Su-geun scolded him, out of sadness. He said it's sad to hear the news so out-of-the-blue from Kim C after bonding so tightly on the show for three years. Lee teared up saying, "I don't know about your music or your personal life but for you to leave so abruptly is very disheartening."

Kang praised Kim C's courage, saying his departure is a loss to the show, but that hopefully he made the greatest decision in his own life. Kang said he had relied a lot on Kim C and that he can return whenever he wishes to. Eun Ji-won was sorry that he blamed Kim C for always eating too much and said he believes Kim made the right decision. MC Mong put an end to the "who's better looking" dispute between himself and Kim, saying, "Everyone knows that you're better looking than I am."

The most distraught by Kim's farewell was Kim Jong-min. He only recently rejoined the Two Days cast after finishing military service. But his sub par performance on the show triggered viewer calls that he should be kicked out. Kim said he has been guilt-ridden.

The following morning, the members prepared a hearty breakfast for Kim C and the producers gave him a super large photo frame showing his numerous pictures shot on the show.

I was really sad when I read the news about Kim C leaving 1N2D. He's the "mom" of the show and I'll surely miss him dearly. T_T Good luck in your music Kim C. Fighting!

This article is nothing but wonderful. I have the same respect for Kim C and I know he will become a better musician when he comes back.

I have nothing but respect for this man.

Today I learned that he will be leaving the cast of 1박2일 (1 Night 2 Days) soon. It took me by surprise because I thought if anyone were to leave the show, it’d be Kim Jong Min. A part of me is glad that he isn’t going though. More thoughts on that later.

What I like most about 1박2일 is its PERFECT ensemble cast. Each of the 1박2일 members have their own personalities and they happen to complement each other. No personality overlaps another and none are overbearing, over-the-top, or annoying. The cherry-on-top is the fact that the cast has spent YEARS with each other. Not only are they complimentary, they have a bond forged by time.

When 김C first appeared on the show, there was a lot of criticism that he was too quiet, unfit for the world of variety shows. He was able to dispel these criticisms, however, because he offered something different from what the other members had to give. Sure, he was quiet, but when he spoke, he had something important (or hella funny) to say.

He actions also spoke a lot for him. I still remember the episode in which he successfully bungee jumped when the other members couldn’t. Like a boss, he nonchalantly said that it was all for the sake of the show. He added that since he was not much of a entertainer, he wanted to do what he could with his own body. He was willing to offer his entire self for the show. “Wearing” a cardboard box during a cold winter and taking on a heavy parka jacket during summer are also other memories I have of him.

What I like most about 김C형 is that he is ultimately an artist. It’s the main reason why he’s leaving 1박2일. (He’s going to concentrate on his music.) I think we can all take a life lesson from him. In context, he’s leaving one of the biggest shows in Korean television history. He’s leaving a comfortable spot in life in order to grow not only as an artist, but also as a person. Instead of living idly, he chooses to build upon what is already well-situated. It’s as if he’s trimming the branches of his life in order to let stronger ones grow.

What we have left now is six. Six members. Although 김C’s departure is a sad ordeal, it also brings out new opportunities. Opportunities I hope Kim Jong Min will take. He’s reestablishment into the show has been a bumpy ride. He is often awkward and seen standing outside (literally and figuratively) the group. I hope 김C’s departure will give him room to grow and develop what the other six had developed with the years they had together.

Anyways, good-bye 김C형~ I hope you make your time worth it so that we can see a better side of you when we see you again! Thank you for your kindness and all the great memories on 1박2일!

[Variety] 1N2D - Yokji Island

1 Night 2 Days

The 7 men went to Yokji Island for their early spring special. In the boat, they were given the island's specialty for lunch in exchange for mackerel fishing. Surprisingly, every one was swayed to eat and agreed to go fishing.

But since the boat they're using is small, not everyone will go, they passed by a beach and played another challenge. The 4 who will jump into the water will be exempted from fishing. They didn't know that fishing will only take 5 minutes travel time and only 30-40 minutes to harvest.

For dinner bokbulbok game, they played the 99 second challenge where each will have a challenge to do. They will have to accomplish all challenges within 99 seconds with no errors. They were given a buffet for dinner, but one dish will be taken out each time they do not succeed in the challenge. I feel so sorry for Kim Jung Min. =S

For the sleeping game, they're playing against the 107 staffs. It's 7:107, who will win? =)
